The house is set on a steep, rugged hillside and has views over the town to the sea beyond. Access requirements to suit a disabled member of the family include a lift, level surfaces inside to out, and room planning issues. The high performance eco-conscious specification includes deep cellulose fibre (recycled newspaper) insulation to the timber frame construction and a heat recovery ventilation system.
This house was featured in 8 pages of Grand Designs magazine, October 2004, and also in Kevin McCloud’s book, 'Grand Designs Handbook'
