Annexe to South Downs barn conversion house
Another project overcoming difficult site and planning constraints. Within a conservation/ traditional building led scenario we were able to gain planning consent by proposing a scheme that offered overall visual improvement by comparison to the previous garage building it replaced.
The annexe is set into the land with full storey height retaining walls at a property boundary corner, and this created challenges in respect of adjacent ownerships together and spatially restrictive working areas.
The first floor is used as a home office and takes advantage of good distant views. Particular features include the panelled staircase and the oak framed exposed roof structure.
Noel Wright Architects were responsible for
- Scheme design and obtaining planning consent
- Technical resolution including working drawings and achieving regulatory consents
- Building Contract administration
